Social media and messages trending alleged that Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) with the designation Park Superintendent of Ralamandal was using the premise for private alcohol party during the weekend, but when chief conservator of forest (CCF) visited Ralamandal, he did not find any such party being organised late on Saturday night.
“Nothing objectionable was found there. Watchmen were on duty and Dinesh Waskel, ACF was at his residence,” CCF HS Mohanta said.
The trending messages backed up with claims of some forest workers claimed that Dinesh Vaskle, ACF of Ralamandal, was partying in the buffer zone with his friends on Saturday (November 6, 2021) late at night.
CCF HS Mohanta on hearing about it reached there at 11 pm. “Based on the complaint received over phone, I personally went there at around 2300 hrs to do the night patrolling,” he said.
The message and information from some forest workers claimed that there were about ten people in the party, who were drinking alcohol.
When asked CCF Mohanta in this regard, he said, “I did not find any merit on the complaint I received over phone.”
According to the information received, CCF Mohanta entered the Ralamandal Sanctuary at around 11 pm. He asked Bharat, the driver of the vehicle, to take the vehicle inside to the residence of the Vaskele.
Vaskele was found at home. Mohanta warned the officer and other officials of ensuring that they do not allow any such acts in the sanctuary ever.
The Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972 Chapter IV [Protected Areas] Section 32 states “Ban on use of injurious substances.—No person shall use, in a sanctuary, chemicals, explosives or any other substances which may cause injury to, or endanger, any wild life in such sanctuary.”
Citing the various rules, Mohanta warned the officers. “I came back from night patrolling with just words of caution,” he told Free Press.
Residence issue
ACF Dinesh Vaskle has made his residence in the buffer zone which used to be a wireless room. According to the rules, even the ACF is not allowed to stay there.
On this CCF Mohanta said, “Yeah. He has been staying there as the residence of the Park Supdt is not vacant. That’s a make shift arrangement. The residence should be vacated by the occupant by end of December.”
The claims in the messages against the ACF
Some outsiders were also in the party at the ACF, who had consumed a lot of alcohol. It is being told that the CCF scolded the ACF and asked to close the party immediately.
When the CCF had reached inside through the main gate, they found a person swinging. When asked out, Vaskele allegedly said that he was snake catcher.
Where the party was going on there was music playing. Wild animals like deer and cheetal live only a few meters away from the place where the party was going on.
