Snow Globes!
Materials:
Glass jar with a tight lid (e.g., mason jar)
Small figurines (e.g., penguins, polar bears, etc.)
Glitter or fake snow
Water (distilled is best)
Glycerine (optional, to slow snow fall)
Hot glue gun
Decorative items (e.g., ribbon, paint)
Steps:
Glue Figurines: Use a hot glue gun to attach small figurines to the inside of the jar lid. Let the glue dry completely.
Prepare Jar: Fill the jar with water, leaving about an inch from the top. Add a pinch of glitter or fake snow, and a bit of glycerin (optional, for slower snow fall).
Assemble: Screw the lid with figurines tightly onto the jar. Check for leaks by gently shaking it upside down.
Decorate: Optionally, decorate the jar or lid with paint, ribbon, or stickers.
Shake and Enjoy: Turn your snow globe upside down and shake to see the snow fall!
Veggie Snowballs
Ingredients:
1 cup cooked rice
1/2 cup mashed potatoes
1/4 cup grated carrots
1/4 cup thawed peas
Salt & pepper to taste
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Olive oil or butter (optional)
Instructions:
Mix: Combine cooked rice, mashed potatoes, grated carrots, peas, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
Shape: Roll the mixture into small balls.
Coat: Roll each ball in breadcrumbs.
Cook:
Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake on a sheet for 15-20 minutes, turning once.
Pan-fry: Cook in a hot pan with oil for 3-4 minutes per side.
Serve: Enjoy warm, with a dipping sauce if desired.
