Celebrate Ocean Day: Explore, Create, and Protect

Every year on June 8th, we celebrate World Ocean Day—a moment to appreciate the vast, vibrant oceans that cover more than 70% of our planet and sustain countless forms of life. Oceans give us food, regulate our climate, and even provide the air we breathe, yet they face serious challenges: pollution, overfishing, and climate change threaten their delicate balance.

Today, we can connect with the sea in playful and meaningful ways. Whip up a bright bowl of Palak Chano, craft colourful bottle-cap crabs, or dive into an ocean-themed crossword, discovering whales, sharks, and glowing fish. Each activity is more than fun—it’s a reminder of the richness of marine life and the care it deserves.

This Ocean Day, let’s celebrate creativity, curiosity, and the wonder of the oceans while reflecting on the importance of protecting them. Every small act—learning, creating, or simply noticing—is a way to honour the blue heart of our planet.

Who am I, drifting happily with the breeze?
