DPS Rau student Samriddhi Bhandari makes waves at state aquatic meet

Samriddhi Bhandari, a student of Delhi Public School, Rau, secured multiple medals across junior and senior categories at 54th State Aquatic Championships held in Rewa.

In the U-19 A Group, Bhandari won gold medals in the 800 metre freestyle, 100 metre freestyle and 200 metre individual medley. She also secured silver medals in the 1500 metre freestyle and 100 metre butterfly events.

In the women’s senior category, she won silver medals in the 800 metre freestyle, 400 metre freestyle, and in both the 4×100 metre freestyle mixed relay and girls’ relay events. She also earned bronze medals in the 1500 metre freestyle and 50 metre freestyle.

Speaking after the event, Bhandari said, “I focused on consistency across all events and worked on improving my timings in long-distance races.” She added that competing in both junior and senior categories helped her gain experience at the state level.

Her final medal tally stood at three gold, six silver and two bronze medals.



Asha Nair, principal of Delhi Public School, Rau said the achievement reflected sustained training and discipline. She said, “The focus was on building stamina and race control across different styles.”
