The little lamp
On Diwali evening, young Aarav lit a tiny diya outside his home. Seeing his lonely neighbour, Mr. Sharma, across the street—who had once hurt him with harsh words—Aarav hesitated.
His mother gently advised, "A diya never asks who deserves its light. Let your heart do the same."
Inspired, Aarav crossed the street, placed a diya at Mr. Sharma’s doorstep, and offered him sweets. Tearful and touched, Mr. Sharma apologized for his past unkindness, and Aarav warmly forgave him. Soon, other neighbours joined, transforming the dark street into a glowing symbol of love and community.
Aarav realized that the greatest light is the one kindled in another person's heart. Diwali reminds us to share kindness and forgive freely, because brightening someone else's world makes our own shine brighter too.
