Fertility rates are falling, being Happy & Positive can give a boost: Dr. Shweta Kaul Jha

Being a parent is one of the dearest wishes for any human being, be it a man or a woman. However, struggling with responsibilities, our own wishes and sometimes even fear of martial responsibilities leads to delayed marriage and hence, delayed attempts to have a child. Couple with disturbed lifestyles, lack of peace and stressful life, many couples find it difficult to have a child.
There can be numerous causes for infertility, but the fact is, fertility issues are on the rise in India and the world.
“As per the World Population Prospects 2017, the fertility rate of Indians reduced by over 50% from 4.97 during 1975-80 to 2.3 for 2015-20. A further reduction of the fertility rate to 2.1 is expected during 2015-30 and 1.78 by the end of the century.”
Giving hope to many such couples, Infertility specialist Dr. Shweta Kaul Jha guides couples on better understanding of the issue.
Basics of Infertility
Infertility is the inability of a couple to become pregnant (regardless of cause) after 1 year of unprotected sexual intercourse (using no birth control methods).
Essential facts
Infertility affects men and women equally.
Most infertility cases are treated with medication or surgery.
Improvements in fertility treatment have made it possible for many women whose male partner is infertile to become pregnant. These new and advanced technologies include in vitro fertilization (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), and other similar procedures.
Couple should immediately seek help if…
Irregular periods or no menstrual periods.
Very painful periods.
Endometriosis: A disorder in which tissue that normally lines the uterus grows outside the uterus. One of the most common symptoms of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the abdomen, lower back and pelvic areas.
Pelvic inflammatory disease: It is an infection of the uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries and cervix. In such a condition, you may feel tightness or pressure in the reproductive organs, or an occasional dull ache.
More than one miscarriage.
Suspected male factor (i.e., history of testicular trauma, hernia surgery, chemotherapy, or infertility with another partner).
There is Hope…
Couple should remember that infertility in most cases can be cured as it is generally primary. In every case, positivity and happiness can help in harmonising the hormone and body. This would definitely give the boost to fertility, so do not fear and be happy.
