ISC Class XII Report | Indore
ISC Result Trends Show Wider Spread of High Performance in 2026
By TINA KHATRI
Declaration of ISC (Class 12) results on Thursday marked a noticeable shift in Indore’s academic performance pattern, with 2026 outcomes reflecting a broader distribution of high scores rather than isolated peaks of exceptional results. Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) announced results at 11:00 AM, triggering heavy traffic across official result portals.
Unlike previous years, where results were largely defined by a small group of standout toppers, 2026 data shows tighter clustering of scores in higher bands, particularly in the 90% and above range, indicating a more even distribution of academic achievement across schools in Indore.
Shift from Individual Peaks to Collective Mastery
Analysis of the city-wide data shows that the gap between the top tier and the general merit list has effectively collapsed. In Science and Commerce streams specifically, the density of students crossing the 90% threshold has increased significantly compared to the 2025 cycle.
Yasmin Burhani, principal of MSB Educational Institute, observed that this year’s results signal a broader academic maturity. She noted that students are increasingly performing with high consistency across all subjects rather than relying on a few exceptional subject scores to pull up their averages.
Echoing this sentiment, Thara Nair, principal of Laurels School International, stated that the standout feature of the 2026 batch is its "depth." While individual brilliance remains a hallmark of the city, Nair emphasised that having a larger, more cohesive group of students achieving high percentages reflects a strengthening of classroom learning outcomes across the board.

Science Stream: The Elite Cohort
“I’m really happy to have topped the ISC Science stream with 97.75%. My preparation was all about consistency rather than anything extreme. I stayed regular with my studies throughout the year and consciously kept myself away from social media so I could stay focused. I didn’t follow any complicated strategy—just focused on understanding concepts clearly, revising regularly, and practicing consistently. Right now, I’m preparing for JEE Advanced with the aim of pursuing Aerospace Engineering at IIT Madras.”
— Shubh Tiwari, ISC Science Topper (97.75%) | Laurels School International
Science Merit List: Shubh Tiwari (97.75%), Priyansh Patodi (95.00%), Mohammad Nakhuda (94.00%), Madhur Kabra (93.75%), Fatema Khuraiwala (93.75%), Husaina Lightwala (90.75%), Nafisa Khandwawala (90.50%), and Insiya Kachchawala (90.25%).
Commerce Stream: Analytical Leaders
“I scored 92.75% in ISC Commerce, which comes to 371 out of 400. My preparation was completely based on self-study, and that helped me stay consistent and in control of my learning. I revised the entire syllabus around three times and studied for about six hours a day. I kept things simple—focused on understanding concepts well rather than memorising—and that made revision much easier during exams. I now aim to pursue BBA from an IIM and am steadily working towards building a strong academic foundation for that goal.”
— Somesh Kali, ISC Commerce (92.75%) | Progressive Education School
Commerce Merit List: Somesh Kali (92.75%), Lavesh Jain (90.00%), Bhakti Jha (90.00%), Jhilmil Bishnoi (89.25%), Dhanushree Kandhari (88.75%), Kavya Yadav (87.25%), Padamshree Goswami (86.25%), and Aditya Somani (85.75%).
Humanities Stream: Social Science Scholars
“I realized that Science and Commerce were not really my strengths, so I chose to focus on a path that aligned better with my interest in History. I plan to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in History, and further ahead, I want to specialise in Archaeology. It’s a field I find fascinating because it connects us directly with the past and helps us understand how civilisations evolved. I will also be the first in my family to take up this academic direction. My role models are BTS, the Korean music group. I really admire their journey, especially how much hard work, discipline, and consistency they put in to achieve global success.”
— Shivangi Gupta, ISC Humanities Topper (93.75%) | Laurels School International
Humanities Merit List: Shivangi Gupta (93.75%), Eevie Mallick (81.75%), and Sharansh Singh Pawaiya (80.25%).
