A team of 32 engineers and start-up entrepreneurs is running e-cafe, which guides an avid entrepreneur in developing and growing his idea into a functional company. Further, after establishing the idea, they provide a cohesive environment and necessary facilities for bootstrapping start-ups. The novel idea of forming an organisation to support start-ups was not an individual’s but of a team of students and teachers.
An educationist and entrepreneurial supporter, Prof Jitendra Rajaram incepted some engineering students and helped them grow their ideas into companies. “I started discussing entrepreneurial ideas and developed them at the Malwa Institute of Technology (MIT), and it was amazing to discover those innovative and revolutionising ideas,” Rajaram said.
Further, on discovering the potential of the ideas, he helped them grow the idea into a prototype and then into a marketable product. “However, there was an issue of lack of experiential learning and acceptance of failures,” he added.
Counteracting the often talked about flaw of Indian education, Rajaram along with a team of amateur entrepreneurs started a group, which sanctioned projects for forming companies and further helped them in overcoming challenges of a start-up.
“Our motto is to liberalise innovators to make mistakes and learn from them, and that is the quote behind our success,” founder member of e-cafe, Shivam Shukla said.
Starting a company might not sound too much of work because of a number of successful start-ups in the city, but it is a narrow view of the situation. “Students are often mesmerised by the idea of a start-up because of the prevailing trend, but to ensure that it is a pragmatic idea and if not, nurture it to become one, is our job,” Shukla added.
Talking about their achievements, founder member of e-cafe, Kamal Rathore said, “We were awarded the first place in the e-week organised by the National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) in 2015, it was surely a much-awaited feather in our cap.”
NEN organises a national entrepreneurial week (e-week), where entrepreneurs from all across the country participate to win the ‘Highest Impact Award’. The e-week is starting today and e-cafe will be participating, hoping to win the title 2-years in a row.
Highlighting the achievements of their targets, founder member of e-cafe, Alok Baj said, “What counts most is the real impact that we have had in society, we have successfully established more than 25 start-ups since our inception last year.” Further, he quotes that there are number of other projects in different developmental stages in hand.
E-cafe provides free counselling, shared office premises, legal guidance, documentation facilities, dealing tactics, practical exposure and communication help for all the enthusiastic entrepreneurs.
