Manpur area has largest encroachments in Indore division stretching between 800 and 1,000 hectare. This was shared by divisional forest officer (DFO) Dr Kiran Bisen while chairing a meeting of forest officials on encroachments on Tuesday. She warned officials about consequences in case of new encroachments. “Officials must survey the area, verify encroachments from the list and work on removing them,” Bisen said. She provided a list of encroached areas as detected last year and asked officials to work on removing them. “All the officials will be answerable for encroachments in their area and have to ensure removal,” Bisen said.

A group of 24 nature lovers volunteered and held a cleanliness drive at Gulawat Valley on Monday. The team was coordinated by Shrikant Kalamkar, Sudhanshu Jain and Yashu Shinde, the group wants to ensure that Gulawat lake remains clean and doesn’t fall into the trap of garbage. “We don’t have to wait for lakes to become dumps, until we realise our mistakes,” volunteer Santosh Srivastava said. Forester Rajendra Rathore, who was caught demanding bribe about 2 months back, was finally suspended by the forest department. Rathore serving as forester in Indore forest division had stopped a truck carrying wooden logs. He had demanded bribe from the truck driver to release it. The audio recording of Rathore seeking bribe from the truck driver to release it was floated on social media and reached forest officials. Following the recording, Rathore was charged under section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Despite being charged under the act, Rathore was serving as forester with a few temporary leaves following the incident. School education department has informed all the parents and schools reminding them about mandate of transfer certificate (TC) for admission in any classes except pre-primary. The reminder and notice came after Association of Unaided Private Schools from Indore met with KK Dwivedi, Director of Public Instructions Directorate and raised the issue. Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) has released blueprint of the new examination pattern, wherein students will now be required to be more precise and study thoroughly to attempt objective questions. The usual long-type questions which help students score easily by explaining a particular topic will not be asked anymore. The new examination pattern will be applicable for students attempting class X and class XII board examinations in 2021. As per the blueprint, small logical questions will be asked, which can be answered only after reading the entire chapter properly. MPBSE is working on making several changes in the pattern of questions asked in the tenth and twelfth board exams. Now, instead of direct questions asked every year, logical and comprehension questions will be given a preference.
