The youngest food
consultant of India is 14-year-old, Ayesha Motiwala Chara. Ayesha discovered
her passion for cooking at the age of 8. In conversation with me, Ayesha said,
“It is not that the life of a student is stressful today, I do everything I
enjoy in my free time.”
She is an inspiration
to all those youngsters, who are passionate about something but unable to see
it through because of the lack of time. While most kids spend their leisure
time in front of the idiot box or on Facebook, Ayesha said, “When I take a
break from studying, I either practice singing or cook something.”
While browsing through
internet for career choices, Ayesha came across ‘food consultancy’. “When I
read the profile of a food consultant, I realised that it is something I have
been doing for years,” she grinned. On discovering her strength, she decided to
go online to connect with and help food enthusiasts.
“I discussed the idea
of creating a blog with my family, who supported me in taking it forward,” she
quipped. Further, she quotes that her alma mater, Emerald Heights International
School, helped her in making and maintaining the blog.
She started her blog,
‘Cheff Ayesha Kitchen’ last year, and became a hit with foodies all over the
world. She receives several queries in a week on her blog posts.
Talking about her
future plans, she says she won’t leave her interest but wants to utilise all
her skills. “My mother told me to consider position as a food critic, food
scientist or a food technologist, since I am good at academics as well,” Ayesha
said.
She adds that what
makes a good chef is the love for food combined with passion to try something
new. “I love to spoil family and friends by making special dishes and
surprising them because it makes my day to see someone enjoying something that
I made with love,” she said. She added that she loves experimenting.
She said, “I love to
create recipes in my head and then test them on family and friends. Everyone
enjoys the party and I get to share my passion with the ones I love!”
She concluded saying
that one must discover one’s passion and take it forward despite any
opposition, like her role model, Chef Sanjeev Kapoor.
