Indore Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Saffron's new shade with Shankar Lalwani, supported by Tai and Bhai

Modi’s tsunami won over the long-held citadel of Indore for BJP, offering a new leadership after decades to first-timer Shankar Lalwani. As he moved towards victory in Madhya Pradesh’s commercial capital after several rounds of counting, Lalwani won the seat with flying saffron.

Lalwani replaced none other than eight-time MP and Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan popularly known as ‘Tai’, who had stepped aside from the race of tickets after the party remained indecisive for a while over her name on grounds of age.

Discussing record-breaking win of BJP, Lalwani said, “This win is a win of Indore’s voters, who supported development and recognised the work of PM Narendra Modi.” He quoted previous contribution of BJP leaders.

“15 years of development headed by former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, further work done for development of the city by our 8 times elected member of parliament Sumitra Tai are important factors due to which, we had the record-breaking win,” Lalwani said.

Not leaving out party ministers and workers, he said, “Our ministers, party workers and most importantly all the voters, their love and support for the country and BJP has powered us to work for development.”

Along with Tai’s work, he mentioned, “Tai’s blessing, our party’s planned and unified efforts further coupled with Modi’s wave ensured our win.”

When asked about challenges if faced any, Lalwani said, “We did not face any challenges, every person of our party had been continuously working in a properly planned manner.” Highlighting unity as their strength, he said, “Our unity worked the magic and made sure that saffron spreads across the city and country.”

Talking about competition from Congress, Lalwani said, “Congress felt they are in the battle, but we did not feel they were even competition.” Discussing surety of the win, he said, “We were sure to win, the only question was by how much margin.”

Quoting developments, Lalwani said, “We are working on a blueprint of development of the city and country that will help us in having a properly planned development.”

The reason behind BJP’s record breaking win is Modi and Nationalism. Modi and development in country in last five years was a big issue.

People saw the development and its effects. This factor played an important role in this win. Party's development in 30 years in the city has been seen and witnessed by voters in Indore.

It also played a major role for people. It was also one of the most important factors that ensured winning for BJP in the election.

 BJP has unity among party and working together in unity, party workers made sure that we win. Party workers coordinated very well. Party workers ensured this record-breaking win for us with their hard-work.

When it comes to winning of Lalwani, it was sure that he will win. Party workers had ensured the win with their work and coordination.

Modi’s wave manifold the win and made the victory as record-breaking one. Lalwani has made some promises to people.

Considering all the promises made by Lalwani, all the party workers of BJP will work together and try to fulfil them.

We were sure to win, because we had our winning mantra with ‘Neta’ (leader), ‘Niti’ (policy) and ‘Niyat’ (intention/devotion).

Since they fooled people, they were rejected by people now. Lalwani’s win was already decided. Based on our work done in the city, anybody can win representing our party.
