Confidence? 50% girls lose it before teenage

‘Confidence’ The word itself brings blooming power with it. However, the truth is most of lack it , even the ones who show themselves to be perfect...rather they are the ones desperate to prove themselves worthy of something in life.
So what is confidence? Is it the surety of always being right? It seems like it... But in reality, nobody is actually confident about anything. Life is too unpredictable to be confident. We live in confidence that we will wake up tomorrow, but it is not really a surety, just an experience. We have experienced waking up after sleeping for days and years, but not experienced, the last day of our life yet. For anyone, who has near death experience, the importance of life changes.

Sadly, the confidence of being happy with ourselves starting vanishing sooner than we realise. For more than 50 percent girls, their confidence turns to inferiority complex as they approach teenage. This was even found in a latest research conducted on 1200 girls in America. However, the blue side of it is safer than the pink. Most boys don't suffer from dropping confidence as they approach teenage.
Now, imagine girls feeling bad about themselves, always feeling ‘not good enough’. Boys erupting with confidence and undergoing hormonal changes just like girls. How difficult do you think it is for anyone to lure a girl into a dream or a promise of one by giving her compliments?
If you feel inferior and someone repeatedly claims that you are perfect for him, then aren't you bound to fall for that person? The problem is that teenagers don't understand this. They are already battling with enough from stress about success, study, inferiority, friends and peer pressure. However, the sad reality is... most parents are busy suffering another dreaming disorder.
Enforcing all their unfulfilled wishes and giving their children a dream to explore the world, most parents forget how their children might regret their moves someday.
The problem does not end there. This vanishing confidence equation just begins at teenage. It is a long road ahead where even after doing your best, losing that extra baby weight, putting on masks to beat acne, wearing the perfect dress and make up, many women are forced to believe that they are not enough.

Whether it is dating, marriage or career, you are expected to fit into a role that is built in mind-set of some people. While it is becoming the dream sari draping or partying girlfriend or the perfect daughter-in-law or the challenging woman denying herself a break during period, there are endless determinants defining you.
Why is it that an ambitious woman expected to work harder than others or ignore her hobbies?
Now, the answer is quite simple because lacking confidence, women (from their teenage phase of being young girls) have allowed men, society and norms to determine their life.
Another simple example is from a recent story that I read, which repeatedly quotes how a divorced woman feels she is not good enough for a unmarried man.
In conclusion, think about it... What has the lack of confidence and self-acceptance cost you? Do you want it to cost more?
