The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board exams are coming up. But don’t let the stress become overwhelming. Many children view examination like a monster and especially if it is Physics. Fear not, Physics is actually one of the most basic subjects and manageable with organised approach.

Studying and understanding Physics
• Go through the NCERT book for Physics. All topics in syllabus for the exams are covered in the NCERT books
• Make a complete list of derivation , formula and experiments in your syllabus and keep that list it will be useful during the exam
• Revise all the concepts regularly.
• Solve each and every numerical from NCERT book.
• Do not forget to learn the SI units for all physical entities.
• During the exam try to write your descriptive answers in point and give pictorial or graphical illustration whenever possible
• Be crispy and to the point and before starting answer, frame a skeleton of the answer.

The whole paper contains at least 33% internal choice questions.
Course structure and marks allotted
Unit I & II
Electrostatics and Current electricity have weightage of 16 marks. These chapters are easier and one can score well with little practice.
Unit III & IV
Magnetic effects of current and magnetism and Electromagnetic induction and alternating currents have combined weightage of 17 marks. One needs to practice these topics more regularly.
Unit V & VI
Electromagnetic waves and optics (Ray & Wave optics) get weigthage of 18 marks in examination. These chapters require written practice during revision.
Unit VII & VIII
Dual nature of radiation and matter; and atoms and nuclei together has weightage of 12 marks.
Unit IX
Electronic device has weightage of 7 marks. However, these are the easy marks that students can gather for scoring well with little practice.
