Create Stories: Posture tips for exams, as shared by Dr Priyanka Tiwari

As examination are approaching, most students are likely to face writer’s cramp, headaches and body pains due to strained life, but this is not natural and can be avoided. This was explained by physiotherapist Dr Priyanka Tiwari to students of a private CBSE school in the workshop organised by Create Stories on Monday.
Organiser Deepak Sharma quoted the importance of guidance for students and explained that issues developed in children affects a person’s entire life often causing several medical issues.
“During examination, most children quit all other activities and spend all their time studying or relaxing with gadgets,” Priyanka said. She explained that it is during examination that children realise their body’s issues, which are always present.
“Students feel the cramp in their fingers, wrist and hand in examination, because they are using their hands for long period of writing,” Priyanka said. She added that these issues are always present, because of lack of strength.
At the time of exam, activities become zero, coaching classes are double and nowadays the addiction of studying on online screen is also found in children. Due to which many problems are being born, if you do not pay attention to your body from childhood, then many diseases are taking place, wrong body postures  from  childhood become habits and now probles can be seen normally after 12 Years of age. There are many problems such as - Spine curvature, shoulder bending, neck forward, back pain, having immunity week, not being able to sit for long duration, cervical spondylitis  ,Back pens, etc.
Writers Cramp  is a common problem is seen and more than 50 percent is seen in children, this happens during or after the examination. Due to this, such as not being able to hold the pen properly, problem in writing, slow writing speed, lack of handwriting, palm and hand pain, change in handwriting or lack of fixation, like earlier change in the way of writing, Trouble reading or understanding written letters or words etc can be seen.

Read and write before the exam, practice writing 5 to 10 pages at a time, it will become our habit while writing, as well as our brain will start to understand it and when we see that question in the exam, our fingers will move automatically. Because we have practiced writing. If you are in the habit of writing daily, then the 3-hour exam will easily come out without the pain of fingers and muscles and the speed will not decrease, so make a habit to write along with reading.
Tips for Students
·         Change your seating posture, it should not be very relaxing and not too difficult.
·         Read out of the closed room too, such as while sitting in the garden or walking so that the natural light and air can also get to your body, this will give you a refreshing feeling and physical movement of the body.
·         Hydrate yourself after giving exams such as water, coconut water, lemon water, milk etc. This will help in body relaxation.
·         Do not bend much while reading, keep the back straight from waist, keep the feet on the ground, keep the knees 90 degrees, the toes straight and the soles of the feet straight, and if you are not able to do all this then some problem of this The first is the warning sign.
·         Do not sit or be in in the same position for long, do body stretching for 5 minutes in 40-50 minutes and after 3 to 4 hours, walk for some time in the garden or cycle for a while or do something that can move the body and relax.
Full body stretching is necessary for full body stretching which means full squad or KuKuDu position which used to as punishment in old time. Do it 10 seconds after every 3 to 4 hours in the home and school and with this full body stretching is done. Schools can make it compulsory after  every 3 to 4 hours for 10 seconds and can start from junior classes, not by saying punishment, but by saying  "It's time to stretch body".
Tips for Parents
• Knowledge school is giving parents should give good habits, decide a physical activity and make a habit so that you can spend some quality time with your child. Physical activity increases the endorphin level of the body. It is a hormone responsible for releasing stress and pain.
• Do not teach children to live a luxury life, it makes them helpless, dependent and lazy.
• If you are giving money and time in the gym, it is better to do outdoor activities, go upstairs instead of lift elevator, it is good for the body.  And by adoptinh physical activity you will be able to give time to family in today's rush life, be a source of inspiration for children.
• Do not force children to eat, give them a choice, for example, if the child wants to eat pizza, then put green vegetables in multigrain bread and make it homemade. Just only serve house cooked food. Make delicious and colorful food at home which kids like.
• You Yourself Eat healthy, do physical activities like running, cycling, outdoor games etc., keep the body posture right, because  child will follow you, Remember children are quick learner.
