MP board exams from March 3 for High School, March 2 for Higher Secondary, March 4 for class 5 & 8

According to the release issued by Board of Secondary Education, Madhya Pradesh (MP board) on Sunday, the high school examination will start from March 3 and the higher secondary examination will start from March 2.
The board has completed all the preparations for conducting these examinations. About 19 lakh 38 thousand 308 students are appearing in the board examinations.
This year about 8 lakh 2110 students are appearing in Higher Secondary Examination as regular candidates.  About 6882 candidates will appear as private candidates. In total 8 lakh 08 thousand 992 candidates will be appearing for in Higher Secondary Examination.
About 11 lakh 29 thousand 316 candidates are going to attend the high school examination this year. At the same time, 3936 exam centres have been set up for high school examination and 3659 for higher secondary examination this year.
Board exams for Class 5 & 8: Sunday preparatory classes
Following the directions of joint director of school education department (Indore) Manish Verma, students of class 5 and class 8 had to revise and prepare for upcoming board examination in special preparatory classes on Sunday.
These special preparatory classes are being organised to ensure higher passing percentage of students in the board examinations.
From this academic session, school education department decided to bring back board examinations for class 5 and class 8. The board examination for these classes is being organised after a decade.
This practice was stopped when Right to Education section 30 was applied in the state which restricted the boards to be held in 5th and 8th standard.
For students of class 5 and class 8, board examinations will be organised from March 4. According to an estimate, about 8,000-10,000 students sit as private candidates for classes 5 and 8 exams.
The board examination will consist of a written test of 90 marks that will be conducted on a separate centre and a Viva of 10 marks which will be conducted in the respective schools of the candidates. The passing marks for the exam are set at 33%.
