Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education New Exam Pattern and Direct links to official Blueprints for class 10, 12 board exams
Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) has released blueprint of the new examination pattern, wherein students will now be required to be more precise and study thoroughly to attempt objective questions. The usual long-type questions which help students score easily by explaining a particular topic will not be asked anymore.
The new examination pattern will be applicable for students attempting class X and class XII board examinations in 2021.
As per the blueprint, small logical questions will be asked, which can be answered only after reading the entire chapter properly. MPBSE is working on making several changes in the pattern of questions asked in the tenth and twelfth board exams.
Now, instead of direct questions asked every year, logical and comprehension questions will be given a preference. MPBSE president RS Julania believes that questions requiring short and precise answers will ensure that students read and comprehend the entire chapter instead of just important parts.
Studying in such detailed manner is likely to help students prepare for competitive examinations, where test papers are designed on multiple choice questions (MCQs).
As per the blueprint of the new paper pattern, there will be 30 percent objective, 30 percent subjective and 40 percent comprehension questions in the paper of 100 marks for each subject.
Earlier, the board exam was 25 percent objective, 75 percent short and long answer questions.
New pattern of MPBSE exam
Total marks of the paper - 100
Objective Question - 30 Marks
Short answer questions - 30 marks (ten questions of 3-3 marks)
Questions of comprehension - 40 marks (Ten questions of 4-4 marks)
Old paper pattern of MPBSE exam
Total marks of the paper - 100
Objective Question - 25 Marks
Very Short Answer Questions - 10 Marks (Five Marks of 2 Marks)
Short answer questions - 12 marks (4 questions of 3 marks)
Long Answer Questions - 28 Marks (7 questions of 4 marks)
Essay questions - 25 marks (5 questions of 5 marks)
Precise answer questions to be asked
As per experts’ analysis, students will not have to write long answer questions in any subject of class X and XII. Apart from this, the number of short answer questions will also be less.
Questions seeking precise answers will be more, hence, requiring thorough reading of chapters. Students preparing from old question papers will have to seek a new approach and focus on thorough learning of textbooks.
