Bird flu spreads further in 32 districts including poultry in 3 districts.
These districts include Khandwa, Khargone, Burhanpur, Barwani, Indore, Agar, Neemuch, Dewas, Ujjain, Guna, Shivpuri, Rajgarh, Shajapur, Vidisha, Datia, Ashoknagar, Bhopal, Hoshangabad, Chhindwara, Dindori, Mandla, Sagar, Dhar, Satna , Panna, Balaghat, Sheopur, Chhatarpur and Raisen districts.
Action has been taken as per advisory issued by the Government of India after the virus was found in poultry in Jhabua, Harda and Mandsaur of the state. Animal Husbandry Department has instructed the Deputy Director Veterinary of all the districts of the state to inform the control room of his district immediately upon receiving information about unnatural deaths in birds or chickens.
The officers of Animal Husbandry Department have been instructed to publicize the measures for prevention and prevention of avian influenza, as well as to prepare necessary PPE kits disinfectant, equipment, stock of medicines, etc. to deal with any contingency situation.
Bird flu in Indore
Avian influenza N5H8 commonly known as bird flu spread seemed to be coming under control, but it is spreading to other species. Over 382 birds have died with the infection in Indore division as reported.
Pigeons, crows, owls, bat and other species like sparrows and humming bird have also been reported death due to the virus in Indore division.
Among these, crows have the largest proportion. Further, bird flu spread to pigeons is also spreading to other species, as various are being reported for such sudden deaths in the city.
There has been a decrease in the number of dead in the city, but birds in rural areas continue to die and often go unreported, as villagers are burying them in fields.
To increase the immunity of birds, antibiotics are being added to the ‘sakore’ kept at various places in rural areas including the city.
Deputy director of veterinary department Dr Pramod Sharma said “The death toll of birds has decreased in two days.” However, birds in rural areas are often found dead.
“Public has become aware about the dead birds, they inform the department wherever dead birds are found or at least burry them,” Sharma said.
Death Of 4084 Birds in MP
So Far, 4084 crows, pigeons and other birds have been reported dead in the state.
According to the information received from National High Security Animal Disease Research (NISAD), sample of chickens in Garhatganj, Kharwariya Garhi Block Of Raisen District are being tested for bird flu.
453 Samples have been sent from various districts of the state till date.
