National Cadet Corps divided the camp and training for 9 MP Battalion this year due to coronavirus outbreak into 5 groups of about 196 NCC cadets in each. In a 5-day camp training on Tuesday, NCC cadets were given training alike army officers.
NCC cadets from various schools and colleges of Dhar, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Mhow, Mandleshwar, Maheshwar, and Indore district are attending the camp in various rounds.
In the morning session, the cadets learned firing 22 deluxe rifles from a distance of 25 yards in the short firing range of the Police Training School (PTC). Then, cadets learned to climb the pole through the rope and engaged in other physical training.
NCC officer Major Sanjay Sohni said, “Cadets are also being trained to read maps, find direction in forest using a compass and all the necessary rules imposed during army training are enforced on cadets under the training session.”
He added that the training brings confidence and even motivates the cadets to serve in the police or Indian Army. Further, the training helps students in clearing physical test for joining forces.
Further, a part of training is organised at Nehru Nagar headquarters. Camp has been organized for cadets with B-certification and C-certification.
“Drill training is essential for bringing discipline to our lives and every NCC cadet must live a disciplined life,” Brigadier Desai said while addressing the students. Lieutenant Manish Jaiswal urged students to understand their responsibilities towards the country and ensure that they actions in civilian live are also supportive for country’s growth.
