Guru Teg Bahadur Prakash Parv: one has mastered the art of self-control that he/she can truly be spiritual
Grand celebrations to mark Guru Teg Bahadur Prakash parv were cancelled in Indore as well as Punjab this year due to coronavirus second wave’s spread on Thursday. However, the celebrations were organised at the oldest Gurudwara in Indore, i.e. Imli Sahib on Thursday.
Shri Guru Singh Sabha organised a 'paath' -- a recital of Guru Granth Sahib -- at the Imli Sahib on Thursday ahead of the 400th birth anniversary of Guru Teg Bahadur.
Earlier, the the sabha had decided to cancel the plan of grand events that were scheduled to be held to mark the birth anniversary celebrations of the ninth Sikh Guru due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Guru Tegh Bahadur was the ninth Guru (April 1, 1621-November 11, 1675) of the Sikh religion.
“A series of events is being organised at Gurdwara Imli Sahib, where Shri Guru Nanak actually came and performed one of the total 4 Udaasis in the year 1568,” Devender Singh Gandhi, community spokesperson, said. He added that all the events will be telecasted live through various platforms. “Links would be provided to the channels for live coverage of the events from April 29 to May 1,” Singh said.

"One who grieves not in misery and delights not in pleasure, who is free from fear and attachment, and for whom gold and dust are the same and who has renounced both praising and blaming (flattery and slander) and is immune to greed, worldly attachments and pride....when the all Merciful Guru blesses a disciple with His Grace, only then does the disciple attain this blessed spiritual state and blends (merges) with the Lord as water with water."
