Madhya Pradesh: Durga homa organised in Indore by Art of Living to beat coronavirus with ayurveda process
The Art of Leaving Indore organized a three-day event of online Durga Homa (Durga Havan) under the auspices of Swami Shuddhachaitanya during the festival of Chaitra Navratri. The purpose of the havan is to protect from corona pandemic and to ensure prompt health benefits for all.
The event is broadcasted online for followers in evening from 5 to 6:30. The three-day event began on Monday and will conclude on Wednesday.
“The chanting of the Mahamrityunjaya is being done after each day of Durga Homa. Thousands of people from Indore are participating in this program through online,” Dinesh Surana, coordinator, said.
Meditation & yoga instructor Deepika Purohit said, “Ayurveda always recommended the holistic approach for the prevention of diseases, health promotion and curing the ailments. Agnihotra/Yagya/ homa is a part of Indian rituals, and one of the ancient therapy of healing recommended by Ayurveda.”
She added that an agnihotra is a simple form of homa. “Various materials are used in this therapy like cow dung cake, rice, ghee and medicinal plants either as a firewood or Samidha, which are helpful for purification of the atmosphere resulting in prevention and control of various communicable diseases,” Deepika said.
She added that many studies showed the antimicrobial activity of smoke raises from Agnihotra. “Hence, with prayers and hope that this activity helps us in fighting coronavirus and healing the world, we are performing this ‘havan’ on three-days of auspicious fest of Chaitra Navratri,” Deepika said.
