Rotary Club: Donate and Collect Plasma for Coronavirus patients in Indore for free from the Database of Madhya Pradesh
With the second wave of corona taking over almost every household, the pandemic is challenging every life around the city and country. The few people who have fought and recovered from the deadly virus develop the necessary antibodies to fight it, at least for a while.
Those who are unable to develop the antibodies tend to struggle to survive. A way to help others fight the virus is to transfer some of these antibodies to the struggling patient.
With many such patients seeking plasma with the necessary antibodies, we all come across such message requests. Looking at this, coordinator of Rotary Club Ghanshyam Singh wondered, “Why not set up a plasma database to help those infected by coronavirus...”
Soon, the initiative was adopted and supported by 750 members of the club in district 3040.
Singh said that this facility is of great service in helping corona infected people with complications, as plasma taken from patients who have recovered from infection can help fight complications brought about by this virus. “Any patient 21 days after recovering from Covid infection can donate plasma,” he said.
“Till now, we have ensured providing the plasma to over 35 people in the district and still, we receive 2 such requirements every day,” Singh said.
