Learn to keep moving, Never give up: life lessons remembered on 182nd death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the beloved ruler popularly known as Sher-e-Punjab
The 182nd death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the beloved ruler popularly known as Sher-e-Punjab, was commemorated by Sikh community in Indore on Tuesday. The event to pay respect was organised at Martyr S. Udham Singh ji Chowk, Guru Gobind Singh Marg.
A large number of Sikh community devotees attended the event and bowed down to the brave warrior. The ceremony was initiated with Ardas that was conducted by Saint Baba Gholi Singh from Sarhali Sahib.
Shri Guru Singh Sabha, Indore president Manjit Singh Bhatia while addressing the society said, “Sikh community is an ideal country-loving community, according to the current times, according to the Sikh principles, by paying attention to the Sikh with utmost seriousness and ability, consider yourself as a successful country servant, administrator.”
He discussed how the martyr spent his entire life in dignity, under the principles of patriotism.
“We should follow this and adopt these high ideals in our life under which our aim should include moral values and philanthropy,” Singh said.
General secretary Jasbir Singh, while paying tribute, said, “The basic mantra of Sikhism talk about living for service and not for the enjoyment of power.” About the martyr, he noted various life lessons motivating community to never give up the path of truth.
After the program, Langar was organised at Gurdwara Khalsa Bagh, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Marg.
