School in Madhya Pradesh, India unlocked: Teachers will go to school: students must study online only
Government teachers-employees will have to go to school, private schools can take their decision according to their convenience and committees.
Schools have started opening once again in Madhya Pradesh. However, it is mandatory for only teachers and staff to come, while online classes will run for students.
School Education Department issued orders in this regard on Thursday. It said that in view of the reduction in the rate of covid-19 in the districts of the state, schools, colleges, educational/training/coaching institutions will remain closed in the state as per the new guidelines issued regarding restrictions of corona curfew.
At the same time, classes have begun on online platform in private schools too, but the education department has left the responsibility of calling staff and teachers to the private school management.
There are 1 crore 20 lakh children in Madhya Pradesh studying in various schools from class 1st to class 12th. This is a matter of their future.
Many school heads feel it is essential to have teaching staff in school to built and execute lessons in various subjects effectively. Further, it will help in admission process and other necessary functions of school.
“Admission process for upcoming session has begun now and having teaching staff in the school premises really helps in that and further, we can conduct online classes in much more organised way,”Shabana Shaikh, principal of Govt High School Vijay Nagar, said.
She added that to manage effectively, school timing might be reduced. “We might consider rotation shift and by following essential covid-19 protocols, it is early manageable to run schools with teachers coming to the premises,” Shaikh said. She added that office staff is already working from school so it is safe.
Some teachers on the other hand are scared and paranoid. “We will still be teaching online and though cases have come down, we are scared of third wave of coronavirus that is likely to hit kids and in turn schools,” said Mukesh Sachdev, a teacher.
Private school association and CBSE schools are still discussing the possibility of unlocking the school and will most likely open for teachers in a day or so, as shared by representatives of the associations.
