Hearing impaired and mute Varsha Dongre from Indore became first WINNER of the Starlife production Pageants Miss & Mr India that was held from 1st Aug 2021 to 5th Aug 2021 at Agra.
Hearing impaired and mute Varsha Dongre from Indore became first WINNER of the Starlife production Pageants Miss & Mr India that was held from 1st Aug 2021 to 5th Aug 2021 at Agra.
Out of 1000 models including Varsha and others with hearing abilities, only few were selected for Finals.
Varsha won the title of Miss India. Varsha, her mother Meena and even her sister are mute and hearing impaired.
All the contestants were hearing and only Varsha was the one with hearing and speech impairment.
Varsha is also Miss Deaf India 2018 from AIDACS. Recently, she also pledged to donate her organs in a special organ donation seminar for hearing and speech impaired people across country. The seminar was organised online by an NGO in Indore.
Varsha’s story
Unlike many beauty queens, Varsha did not get expensive training to achieve her goal of becoming Miss India. In fact, her mother Meena had to borrow Rs 60,000 to pay for the contest held in Agra.
It was Varsha’s late father’s dream for her to win the title. It was the biggest challenge for her to lose her father about three years ago.
But Meena kept scolding her and asked her to focus on the dream. Varsha went to Delhi to buy her a winning outfit and she continued to prepare for the big day on her own at home.
Varsha is also preparing for B.Com second year. The family earlier lived in Khandwa and is now lives in Indore. Varsha is also preparing for Miss Universe and will soon bring the title home too.
