Madhya Pradesh: Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI) has ordered an inquiry into the matter of paper leak

The commissioner of the Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI) has ordered an inquiry into the matter of paper leak. In the order, the commissioner has said that the responsibility of confidentiality of the question papers of the quarterly examination will have to be taken by necessary officials.

Action will be taken against the ones found behind regarding its question paper going viral.

 Papers of the quarterly examination conducted by the department for Classes IX to XII students across the state had gone viral on the Internet, following which the school education department and MPBSE were even considering cancellation of the papers.

According to the information and posts, such question papers were first made viral on YouTube and, then, the links were posted on other social media portals.

Officials of the school education department are trying to track down the source from where the papers were leaked and went viral. At the same time, an FIR will be registered against the possible accused soon.

A letter was issued from the headquarters to maintain the secrecy of this examination.

Before the commencement of the examination on Monday, the examinees had to go through a rigorous screening process in the schools. 

In the first shift, Maths paper of class 9th was held. Chemistry, Accountancy and Geography examination of class 11th eleventh was also conducted in the first shift and concluded at 1 o'clock in the afternoon.

In the second shift, Class 10th examination of Maths was conducted. For class 12th, examination of Chemistry, Accountancy and Geography started at 1:30 pm in the second shift. 

About 95 percent students of all classes are appeared in the examination. 

Covid-19 guidelines were followed during the examination. 

New pattern examination

This time the examination is being conducted on the new pattern changed by Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education. 

The marks of this examination might also be added to the result of class 10th and 12th. This time the question papers of class 10th and 12th examination have been made on the new pattern announced by MPBSE. 

Papers looked similar

The questions papers leaked had similar questions with the ones seen in some sets of examination today, as analysed by teachers. Teacher Himanshi Joshi said, “Some questions were similar, but it is bound to happen, because these are generally asked questions in examination.”

She added that leaking of paper changed the mind-set of many students. “If students knew the correct answers of the so-called leaked papers, then also they studied a major portion of the syllabus that would help them score better,” Joshi said.
