Chandni Fundwani, general secretary of Indian Sindhu Sabha Women's Branch, said, “In Mahalaxmi Puja, all the members of the family in every family are wearing 'Sagida' (yellow thread) and wrapped it on sweet puri on the day of Ashtami and then worshiped at the Brahmin's place.”
She added that ‘Akha’ is given by pouring. “Various sweet dishes are prepared on this day, which are distributed and eaten after offering to Lakshmi,” Anju Shankarlal, a community member, said.

Some gathering and communal celebrations were seen in Larkana Nagar, Gopal Bagh, Triveni, Palsikar Colony, Guru Nanak Colony, Palace Colony, Jairampur Colony, Katju Colony, Sindhi Colony, Dwarkapuri, Jaijagat, Sindhu Nagar, Kamla Nehru Nagar and Vijay Nagar.
