Union Minister Ramdas Athawale will write a letter to the Chief Minister in the matter of atrocities on Dalits and also demand to build Ambedkar Bhawan in Indore for tourists soon. He said this while addressing a press conference at Press Club on Saturday.
“The central government is serious against the atrocities on Dalits. Any caste, be it Dalit, Kshatriya, Adivasi, Christian or Sikh, Babasaheb Ambedkar's dream was to have unity among them,” Athawale said.
Incident like killing and burying five people in Dewas district is far too disappointing, he added.
“MP is the beloved state of the country and if Dalits are being persecuted here, then I will write a letter to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and inform him about the matter,” Athawale said. He added that Ambedkar bhawan is must in Indore, as it is close to Mhow, i.e. birth place of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.
Discussing reservations, he said, “In the 22 percent reservation of OBCs, separate reservation should be given for Gumanto community.”
If Amarinder joins BJP, the party will be strong in Punjab
“After leaving the chief minister's post, I spoke to Captain Amarinder Singh and said that despite being in Congress for years, the party is continuously insulting you,” Athawale said.
Citing this, he had offered Singh to join BJP. “As of now he has not given any reply and if he does join, then our party in Punjab will emerge stronger,” Athawale said.
On the farmers' movement, Athawale said that in a democratic country every person can express his opinion. “The farmer is also doing the same through the movement. There's nothing wrong with that. But the farmers are adamant on one thing that the law should be withdrawn from the central government, which is absolutely wrong,” Athawale said.
He added that PM also wants to talk to the farmers and welcomes their suggestions for amendments in the law.
Sharad Panwar not supported
Athawale also gave his views regarding the politics of Maharashtra. He said that the synergy between Shiv Sena and NCP has started deteriorating in Maharashtra, because even there Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is not giving equal respect to NCP chief Sharad Panwar.
“Panwar should have been made CM, but Congress never did that and always shove him down,” Athawale said.
“In Maharashtra, a situation has started building that NCP may withdraw its support. Only BJP can form its government. If Shiv Sena joins back in the party, we welcome them,” Athawale said.
He also cited support to actress Kangana Ranaut.
Centre to bring down cylinders price, state govt reduce tax!
Regarding the issue of inflation, Athawale said, “We have seen and noticed how inflation is affecting everyone especially villagers.” He cited how people are not even buying gas cylinders in villages and instead using wood for cooking food.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is considering to bring down price of gas cylinder, but state govt should also consider cutting off taxes to bring down prices,” he said.
No to caste-based Census
He opposed the issue of census disclosing caste and said that it would spread casteism. “It is possible from the casteism census that if there are 1000 people in the village, then 800 people will vote on the basis of casteism, which will be wrong,” Athawale said.
