The ranger named BS Deora has been serving the circle. A complaint was raised against the official to Chief Conservator of Forest on Friday.

The complaint raised by legal activist Abhijeet Pandey demanded an action against the official on the basis of previous allegations on Deora since 2018.

“According to the information received, the said Manpur Zone Officer who is posted in Manpur from 12/09/2018 till date, according to the information received, many investigations are going on against him under Civil Services Classification Control and Appeal Rules 1966 -14,” said the complaint letter.

Further, Pandey cited various cases collated by him to file the complaint. “According to the information received and collated by me, many confiscated vehicles were abandonment; there were cases of illegal felling of trees; and more such incidences,” he said.

First allegation on Deora

A Maruti 800 was seized during the blockade on 15/01/2019. The car was numbered MP 09 S 6352. It was found containing illegal teak wood. In this case, three people were caught. They were registered under crime serial number 437/7. According to the rules, Deora should have launched an investigation. However, he did not take any such actions. Hence, he was alleged for ignorance of discharge of duty.

Second allegation on the official

In room number 14 of Kaneria North forest area, JCB number JRC 7792 was caught excavating. A case was registered against this JCB. The crime serial number is 351/07.

According to the rules, the officer should have taken serious action this case. There should have been strict compliance andto be a treasonous action in this too, but the zone officer left against the rules,

Third allegation

In an incident, a JCB numbered MP 09 JE 4059 was seized. It was seized in Beat Khurdi Room No. 24 and 27. A case was registered with the crime serial number 297/15.

In that case also, the action against the owners must have been taken. There was no prescribed action taken. Furthermore, Deora was accused for releasing the vehicle against the rules.

The latest allegation

In the inspection by the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) on 04/10/21, an incident came to light showing illegal felling of trees. Several species of trees were chopped off in beat serial 20 of Khurda.

After which, the Sub-Divisional Officer on 05/10/21, also collected evidences of many trees felled in the area. The evidences were found in the investigation. In this case, case was registered under serial numbers 613/13 and 613/14. Investigation against Deora in this case is also pending.
