“Even last year, a big event was organised keeping full vigilance and this time also we were planning the same initially, but decided to keep more vigil and make it online,” Agrawal said.
Marathon will be held in four categories for eight days
AIM Secretary Vishal Mudgal said that keeping in mind the convenience of the participants, the marathon has not been limited to a single day. Marathon will be held from 6 to 13 February.
The participants can participate in the following categories: 5 km, 10 km, 21 km and 42 kms. “If we run regularly, not only can we stay away from corona but many diseases and future infections will also not make us a victim. This is the best, cheapest way which does not require equipment, gym etc.” he said.
After providing the screen shot of completing the activity, the participant will be sent a medal and t-shirt by courier.
Need not complete the race in one go
Race Director CA Abhishek Porwal said that there is a lot of enthusiasm among the participants for the online marathon. “Participants from countries like the UK, USA, Africa, Singapore, Malaysia etc also participate in the marathon every year,” he said.
He added that participants can participate in this event from anywhere at any time. Participants do not have to cover the distance for which they will register at one go.
“For example if a participant has registered for 42 km, then it is not necessary that they complete it in one go, they can complete it over the days,” Porwal said.
