What is Holi? by Kanishka Untwale

Holi, the celebration of hues, marks the onset of goodness, positivity, and prosperity with spring every year. Some people believe Holi is meant to cherish the love between Radha & Krishna while some believe that Holi is period of pure love, forgiveness, and fulfilment. The festival spreads over three days starting from ‘Holika Dahan’ a full moon night when rituals & offerings are done near a bonfire. This is followed by Chhoti Holi and third day of Rangwali Holi (Rang Panchmi) when people across the country indulge in the colors.
Holi comes with the chance to forgive and to love again through the exchange of sweets, food, and smiles. Relatives and friends visit each other on this joyful day to seek blessings and spread happiness.
Holi must be celebrated with love and laughter.
