Madhya Pradesh: Leopard family continues to stray around Infosys and TCS since 10 days moving into nearby societies
The leopardess and her two cubs roaming in the Super Corridor area continue to trouble forest department and IT companies in the area. The family was first spotted ten days back and on Thuraday, a cub was seen, which is said to be of Ekdant Society near Nainod village. After the video showing the cub surfaced, the forest department rescuers searched the society for six hours, but to no avail.
Fearing that he was hiding in a drain, the forest workers even burst crackers. The activities of leopard in the surrounding fields were monitored through drones, but not a single proof or pugmark was found.
Since last Tuesday, the Forest Department staff is busy searching for the leopard. After Infosys , cages were installed in Samarth Colony in Nanod village on Wednesday. Despite this the leopard family has not been caught. Movement of the leopard was seen again at 8 am on Thursday. This time he was seen in Ekdant Society, two km away from Samarth Colony.
DFO Mahendra Singh Solanki formed a team under the leadership of Indore Ranger Jaiveer Singh and rescue in-charge Yogesh Yadav to head the rescue mission. First the leopard was found in the nearby fields with the help of drones. The forest workers carefully investigated all his hiding places.
A drain was built in the colony, through which dirty water was taken out through a cement pipe. There one end of the pipe was closed with a net. The forest staff was holding the net, while firecrackers were burst from the other end. About ten to fifteen twine bombs were burst. There was a long wait for the leopard to come out.
During searching in the society, information about leopard sighting was also received from the nearby township. The team was sent immediately. The responsibility here was given to Manpur Ranger PS Chauhan. Meanwhile, DFO Solanki also talked to eyewitness Harsh and searched the place mentioned by him. The search operation was paused at 2 pm for the day.
As soon as the news of leopard presence in Ekdant Society spread, the residents got scared. As soon as the forest personnel arrived, people were asked to stay in their homes. People called children and elderly people into their homes and closed the doors. The residents of the entire area remained in panic till 2 pm. Officials have instructed people not to leave their homes in the evening.
DFO-CCF Called A Meeting
After stopping the search operation, DFO Solanki and CCF Narendra Sanodiya called the entire team to the office located in Bijasan and held a meeting. Indore, Choral, Mhow and Manpur rangers and other forest personnel including SDO Kailash Joshi, KK Ninama were present. After this there was discussion about searching and capturing the leopard.
Search to continue in Morning & Evening hours
The officials made a strategy that in the morning and evening the forest personnel would search around Super Corridor, Infosys, Nanod, Samarth Colony, Dilip Colony, Ekdant Society. Solanki said that the movement of leopard is more in the morning and evening. For this, an action force has also been formed, in which 12 forest personnel have been kept.
Forest Minister Is Also Keeping An Eye
The residents of the city have been scared of the leopard for ten days. Forest Minister Nagar Singh Chauhan has discussed the entire matter with DFO Solanki. Have continuously sought reports regarding leopard. He has given instructions to prioritize this leopard rescue.
