Teachers uplifting society felicitated @FREE PRESS

Free Press, the leading English news daily of Central India, felicitated school teachers who have gone beyond their call of duty to educate students of the down-trodden segment of the society in their premises on Sunday. Hundreds of teachers attended the event commemorating Ambedkar Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar.
A teacher who changed the life of Indore’s Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav: CBSE resource person Manoj Bajpai was the chief guest of the event.
Teach by choice, build our future
“Many teachers go unrecognised. Our importance as teachers depends entirely on our students. Not many people knew Ramakant, until Sachin Tendulkar mentioned his teacher. We should become teachers by choice and profession. I had an offer when I was studying. I was asked to become a math teacher, but I wanted to be another professional. I was told that it's a tough job. I was 20 years old. I took it up thinking it will be a short day time job. I received so much love from students. Parents respected me. I was working with Guru Harikishan Public School. I felt teaching was the right fit for me. I worked for Choithram then Daly College. Then it was time for me to get married. I was 24-25. Then people generally frown at marrying a teacher. I did my computer science and worked for IBM. I immediately got married. I did another diploma and returned to teaching. I have been serving for 32 years in the field of education now.
In the last event, the mayor of Indore Pushyamitra Bhargav mentioned that I was a teacher who changed his life. That is my achievement in life. I didn't want him to slip through in class 9 as he was a smart child from a renowned family. People frowned at him. That changed his life. The feeling of a poor teacher is far gone. We are now happy and proud teachers.”

Teachers make you capable
Free Press, an English Newspaper that you read everyday has a history of more than 94 years. We have transformed ourselves to adapt to situations. During the corona pandemic, we launched a special edition for students to provide them with positive news from across the world. It was our initiative to help students and their mental wellness while they were stuck in the house. Now we want it to be two way communication. We welcome you to share information that you feel is useful for students. There is nobody higher than teachers in life. I am still connected to teachers from my school. In my childhood, I believed teaching was an easy job. Then when I grew up and had my son, he said the same thing. Then I knew better. I explained to him that the teacher makes you capable of answering the questions before asking you to write them.

Teachers do more than everyone else
“This is the first time that I am addressing the ones who taught me. Even my wife still teaches me. I don't know how many definitions are related to teachers. A student of class 12 who will become the future of the country is made and guided by a teacher. I hope we receive your blessings and guidance too. We also do our scheduled tasks everyday. We take our break and enjoy leisure time. But teachers are the people who spend all their time and even their leisure time to become role models. We salute all the teachers here today, who have spent their leisure time uplifting the downtrodden.”
