Forest dept rescued 15 snakes from charmers on Nag Panchami

‘Feed the snake milk, get blessed’ echoed in the city as snake charmers roamed on the streets to worship snakes on Nagpanchami on Friday. To catch them, several teams of the Forest Department were also deployed, which patrolled different areas. During the day, three teams freed 15 snakes from the snake charmers.
Later the snakes were released into the wild. According to the forest workers, most of the snake charmers had brought snakes from Choral, Mhow, Sanver area. The snake was seized and released after seeing the advice of the snake charmers.
Keeping Nagpanchami in mind, on the instructions of DFO Mahendra Singh Solanki, three teams were formed in each range of Indore forest division, which included three from Indore range and one team from Ralamandal Sanctuary.
The teams were given the responsibility of monitoring the Bypass, Dhar Road, Aerodrome and Annapurna area. Solanki said that the snake charmers had brought snakes from the rural areas, which were roaming around the streets and worshiping snakes. During this, some snake charmers also had a dispute.
On asking, there was talk of catching snakes from the forests. She says that even if some snake charmers were found like this, instead of live snakes, they went from house to house taking their replicas and pictures. Three teams of Indore Range rescued 15 snakes.
