Return to rigor with numerical challenges & revamped prep strategies
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main brings back the challenge of numerical ridding off the leniency allowed since corona pandemic.
Mentoring technique for the entrance exam in Indore to take a little twist and focus on practise, comprehensive tests and time-management.
In addition to the alterations in the exam structure, NTA also highlighted that the application process for the first phase of JEE Main 2025 will begin shortly, with further information to be posted on the NTA’s official website.
Change in JEE Main 2025
As per the announcement from National Testing Agency (NTA), The announcement specifies that the examination format will revert to its original design, with Section B featuring just five questions for each subject. Candidates will be required to answer all five questions without any choice of selection in the JEE (Main) 2025 for Paper 1 (B.E./B. Tech), Paper 2 A (B Arch), and Paper 2 B (B Planning).
Starting from JEE Main 2025, Section B will include only five numerical questions per subject, all of which must be answered. This change restores the format used before 2021.
How will it affect preparation technique?
“JEE study plan consists of three phases: Phase 1 focuses on Foundation during Months 1-3, Phase 2 emphasizes Core Preparation from Months 4-8, and Phase 3 involves Revision and Mock Tests during Months 9-12,” JEE mentor Harpreet Singh said. He added that students are in their second phase, wherein they focus on clearing concepts.
“Though most concepts are already cleared, we know that they have to be very sure of application of concepts,” Kamal Sharma, another JEE mentor said.
Mock tests will be in-line with the change, which will prepare aspirants for the exam, he added.
JEE mentors shared preparation schedule for aspirants, as follows:
Recommended Core Preparation (Months 4-8)
Objective: In-depth study and problem-solving.
Weekly Schedule:
Monday to Friday:
  • Physics: 2.5 hours (Focus on topics like Mechanics, Waves, Thermodynamics)
  • Chemistry: 2.5 hours (Physical, Inorganic, and Organic Chemistry)
  • Mathematics: 2.5 hours (Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus)
Saturday:
  • Mock Tests: Take a subject-specific mock test (2 hours).
  • Review Mistakes: Analyze performance (1 hour).
Sunday:
  • Revision: Cover weak areas from the week (1 hour each subject).
  • Practice Problems: Solve medium to difficult problems (2-3 hours).
