Vegetarian Savory Bird's Nest
Ingredients:
• 2 medium-sized potatoes (or 1 ½ cups frozen hash browns)
• 4 eggs
• ¼ cup shredded cheese (optional)
• Salt and pepper to taste
• Olive oil or butter for greasing
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Potatoes:
o Grate the potatoes (or use frozen hash browns).
o Squeeze out excess moisture using a clean towel.
2. Form the Nests:
o Heat a little olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat.
o Add the grated potatoes and cook for 5-7 minutes until crispy, stirring occasionally.
o Press the cooked potatoes into the bottom of a muffin tin to form “nests.”
3. Add the Eggs:
o Crack an egg into each nest (or scramble the eggs first).
o Season with salt and pepper.
4. Bake:
o Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
o Bake for 10-12 minutes until the egg is cooked to your liking.
o Optional: Sprinkle cheese on top in the last 2 minutes of baking.

Flapping Bird Origami
Materials:
• 1 square piece of paper (6"x6" recommended)
Steps:
1. Start with a Square: Place paper color-side down.
2. Fold Diagonally: Fold in half diagonally, then unfold. Repeat in the opposite direction.
3. Fold Corners to Centre: Fold all four corners to the center, forming a smaller square.
4. Flip Over: Turn the paper over.
5. Fold Corners Again: Fold the new corners to the center, making an even smaller square.
6. Create the Bird Base: Gently pull the top layer up, folding the bottom corners inward to form a “kite.”
7. Form the Head & Tail: Fold the top of the kite down (head) and the bottom up (tail).
8. Fold the Wings: Fold both sides of the kite out to form the wings.
9. Open the Body: Pull apart the centre slightly to create a pocket.
10. Make It Flap: Pinch the bottom and gently pull the head and tail apart to make the wings flap!
Game Corner: Fly Like a Bird Relay
Materials Needed:
• Cones, ropes, or markers for the obstacle course
• Hula hoops or small objects for jumping
• Optional: Bird masks or props
Setup:
1. Create the Course: Set up a simple obstacle course with areas for different bird movements:
o Flap wings: Flap arms like a sparrow.
o Hop like a penguin: Hop with feet together.
o Waddle like a duck: Waddle with knees bent.
o Balance like an eagle: Stand on one foot.
2. Divide into Teams: Each player must complete the course while moving like the assigned bird.
