Indore District: 5,909 Students Receive Rs 25,000 Each Under Laptop Assistance Scheme
In Indore district, 5,909 students received Rs 25,000 each on Friday as part of the state government’s laptop assistance scheme, aimed at providing digital tools to meritorious students.
This initiative is part of a broader state program where chief minister Mohan Yadav transferred a total of Rs 224 crore for the laptop assistance program, benefiting 89,710 students across the state who secured 75% or higher marks in the Class 12 board exams of the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) for the academic session 2023-24.
The scheme, designed to support students in their educational journey by providing them with the financial assistance needed to purchase laptops, has seen significant participation. The total amount allocated for laptops has been released to 37,000 boys and 53,000 girls across the state, with daughters leading the numbers—a reflection of the changing times and the growing empowerment of girls in education.
Among the 89,710 students receiving assistance, 46,000 are from government schools, while the remaining 44,000 are from private schools affiliated with the Madhya Pradesh government. This balance underscores the state's commitment to ensuring that both government and private school students benefit equally from the scheme, promoting educational inclusivity.
In Indore, 5,909 students, out of 6,100 eligible individuals, have completed the necessary account verification and are set to receive their laptop assistance. This disbursement amounts to Rs 1,477,250,000 (1.47 crore) for the district. However, 191 eligible students remain unregistered or have unverified accounts and will need additional support to complete the process and benefit from the program.
