SIF iTBI Ignition Grant - 2.0 to support tech startups in Indore
SGSITS Incubation Forum (SIF) launched the SIF iTBI Ignition Grant - 2.0 to support early-stage startups and technology-driven business models on Wednesday. The initiative aligns with the Department of Science and Technology’s (DST) NIDHI Inclusive-Technology Business Incubator (iTBI) program, designed to foster impactful innovations.
A mentoring session titled "Mentoring Session for Faculty Members to Explore and Delve into CIDI" took place at the Centre for Innovation, Design & Incubation (CIDI) at SGSITS, Indore. The Institute Innovation Council (IIC 7.0) and SIF organized the session to introduce faculty members to innovation and incubation opportunities, focusing on funding schemes like the iTBI Ignition Grant.
Apurva Gaiwak, CEO of CIDI, delivered the keynote address and explained how faculty members can use incubation grants to foster research-driven entrepreneurship. He emphasized CIDI’s role in supporting innovative startups with infrastructure and financial assistance.
Atul Jain, senior contributor at CIDI and SGSITS alumnus, provided a detailed overview of the SIF iTBI Ignition Grant - 2.0. He discussed the grant's objectives, including supporting early-stage startups and technology-based business models. Jain also highlighted how faculty can integrate academic research with entrepreneurial initiatives to contribute to the startup ecosystem.
Dr Shailendra Kumar Sharma, professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, SGSITS, led the session and delivered the vote of thanks. Dr Vineet Singh, Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy, co-convened the event, and Dr Kumar Rohit, Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Production Engineering, coordinated the session.
