STATE MERIT HOLDERS SHINE: DREAMS, DETERMINATION, AND THE POWER OF BELIEF
Girls outperformed boys, securing a pass rate of 78.16%, compared to 70.80% for boys in Higher Secondary Examination results for the Indore District. A total of 33,548 students were registered, of which 33,468 students appeared for the examination. Of those, 33,361 results were declared, with an overall pass percentage of 74.30%. Notably, girls outperformed boys, securing a pass rate of 78.16%, compared to 70.80% for boys. This trend was consistent across all streams and performance brackets.
In terms of stream-wise performance, Humanities had the lowest pass percentage, with 68.69% of students passing. Girls achieved a higher pass rate (72.03%) compared to boys (62.69%).
While the Science stream had the highest pass rate at 78.27%, with a substantial gender gap — girls (79.68%) outperformed boys (77.04%). The Commerce stream showed a notable disparity as well, with 78.38% of girls passing, compared to 65.84% of boys. Agriculture, a relatively smaller stream, had a pass rate of 76.35%, with girls again leading (92.59% pass rate).
The Fine Arts and Home Science streams, though having only female students, both recorded an 85.71% pass rate, with most girls passing in the first division.
When looking at division-wise performance, over 51% of all successful students were in the first division, showcasing strong academic results at the top level.
Girls led in both the number and proportion of first division passes. Specifically, 9,344 girls secured first division marks compared to 7,698 boys, demonstrating their consistent academic excellence across streams.
Concerning failure rate
Despite the overall success, the failure rate was still concerning, with 8,495 students failing, making up about 25.4% of the declared results. The majority of these failures came from boys, with 5,050 boys failing compared to 3,445 girls. Additionally, 99 results were cancelled and 8 withheld for various reasons.

Coming from a farming family, Sarfaraz focused solely on his studies, avoiding social media distractions. He is now preparing for the JEE Mains in Kota.
“When You’re Determined, Everything Works Out” — Vaidehi Mandloi, Humanities, State rank 4 (486 Marks)

In a small household where every rupee is carefully spent and every dream deeply cherished, Vaidehi Mandloi has achieved what once felt distant — securing the 4th rank in the state with an outstanding 486 marks in Humanities.
Her father, Mishrilal Mandloi, once worked long hours as a waiter. Now on a break due to health reasons, the family survives on modest rental income. Her mother, Seema Mandloi, is a homemaker who quietly supported Vaidehi through every late-night revision and early morning exam.
“We don’t have much, but we’ve always had each other,” Vaidehi said. “I’ve always liked studying. When you’re truly determined, everything works out.”
Without distractions or luxuries, she found clarity. “I completely stayed away from social media. It helped me stay focused — honestly, it saved me,” she said with conviction.
She studied eight hours a day, relying on hard work and simple tools. “In Humanities, you may not have Math, but you still need to understand everything deeply. I revised a lot and practiced previous years’ question papers. That made all the difference.”
With her heart set on public service, Vaidehi now dreams of becoming an IAS officer. “UPSC is my goal. I want to serve the nation — and make sure my parents never have to worry again.

Born into a modest home, Dushyant Mawar, the son of Sohanlal, a government office boy, has turned quiet perseverance into extraordinary success. With 480 marks and a 4th rank in the state Science merit list, he’s not only topped the charts — he’s uplifted his entire family.
“I didn’t expect it at all,” Dushyant said, still overwhelmed. His father’s earnings were humble, but his dreams never were. Inspired by his elder brother Ashutosh, who recently completed MBBS, Dushyant now hopes to follow the same path.
“Study when your mind is calm — forcing it never helps,” he advised with quiet wisdom. His success is more than academic; it's a tribute to every family that rises through resilience and belief. He attributes his achievement to the guidance of his school’s principal Raju Krishnan.
Abi Ali achieves 8th rank in Biology stream
Abi Ali Bawahir of Excellent Academy, Mandleshwar, secured eighth position in state by scoring 476 marks in Biology stream in Class XII. His father, Murtaza Bawahir, who runs a private computer coaching centre, taught him biology at home, helping him achieve a perfect score. Abi aims to become a doctor and has also taken the NEET exam.
