CBSE Class 12 City Topper Saher Bariyawal Scores 99.2% in Commerce Stream
Saher Bariyawal has emerged as the city’s highest scorer in the CBSE Class 12 examinations, topping the Commerce stream with an outstanding 99.2%. Saher’s academic excellence is matched by her clarity of thought and a rigorous study strategy.
The daughter of Basil Bariyawal, a chartered accountant, and Sheetal Bariyawal, a teacher, Saher credits her parents' unwavering support and looks up to her father as a role model.
“One thing that really helped me was the constant and rigorous periodic tests (PTS) we had at school,” she said. “Those exams gave me a clear understanding of where I stood during my preparation. I aimed to finish my syllabus by October, and after that, I focused entirely on practice.”
Saher was meticulous in her revision strategy—creating a real exam-like environment while attempting mock and sample papers. “I didn’t just casually solve papers. I would simulate the exam atmosphere, time myself for three hours, sit without distractions, and then get the papers checked by my teachers. That helped me identify where I was lagging—be it in presentation or in using the right keywords.”
Looking ahead, Saher has her eyes set on the financial world. “I’m planning to begin my career in investment banking. I find the idea of analysing projects and business models exciting. Eventually, I might explore quant finance too. I’ve always enjoyed entrepreneurship challenges, so I want to stay aligned with the business domain, even if the exact path evolves with time.”
Saher will be pursuing her graduation in Business at Kelly Business School, Indiana University, USA.

City Topper and Humanities Topper: Ananya Sharma with 99.2%
Ananya Sharma emerged as the city and humanities topper with an impressive 99.2%. While this achievement might have seemed like the result of relentless studying, Ananya's approach was marked by strategic focus and consistent effort.
Interestingly, Ananya also harboured a keen interest in law, stating, "CLAT – I love the legal subjects." However, she admitted her preparation wasn't as intense as her board exams, revealing, "I didn’t study on time. 4-5 hours a day, but regularly." This highlighted her belief in the power of consistency, even with limited time.
When asked about her winning strategy for the humanities stream, Ananya emphasized understanding the subject matter deeply. "Constituency is the key," she noted, implying the importance of grasping the core nature and recurring patterns within each subject.
Ananya credited her supportive family for her success. "My parents were very supportive," she shared. Her mother, Mona, a businesswoman, and her father, Vishal, also a businessman, provided her with a nurturing environment.

Hardik Mehta Tops CBSE Class 12 Science (PCM) in Indore with 98.8%
Hardik Mehta has emerged as the city topper in the CBSE Class 12 Science (PCM) stream, securing 98.8%. The result came as a surprise to him. “I didn’t know I was the city topper,” he said.
A student of Sathya Sai School, Hardik credited his success to consistent self-study and the support of his teachers. “I owe this to my schoolteachers. Their guidance helped me stay focused. They always told me to believe in myself,” he said.
Hardik followed a disciplined routine of six hours of self-study daily, along with four hours of extra lectures. “Class notes were the most helpful. I don’t focus on making decorative notes—just what helps me revise clearly,” he added.
He scored 87 percentile in JEE Main and plans to take a drop year to attempt the exam again with better preparation.
His father, Hemant Mehta, is a businessman, and his mother, Chandanyati, works as a nurse. Hardik aims to pursue engineering and is determined to improve his performance in upcoming entrance exams.

Atharva Airen PCM second
Atharva Airen emerged as the city topper in the CBSE Class 12 Science (PCM) stream, securing an outstanding 98%. What makes his achievement remarkable is his ability to balance board exam preparation with an intense focus on cracking the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main—where he secured an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 190.
“I knew my result, but I didn’t know I had topped the city. It’s amazing,” Atharva said with a smile, reflecting on the unexpected but welcome recognition.
Unlike many of his peers who prioritize board exams, Atharva’s primary academic focus was on JEE preparation. “I didn’t focus much on the board exams. My emphasis was on understanding concepts for JEE. For the boards, I just needed to learn how to write answers properly,” he explained.
To bridge that gap, he turned to practical strategies. “I revised using previous years and model papers,” he said. For non-core subjects like English and Physical Education, he relied on a focused and time-efficient approach. “I prepared for English and PE in just two days,” he added.
His dedication to his studies was evident in his daily schedule. “I studied 8 to 10 hours every day,” Atharva noted, a routine that undoubtedly played a key role in both his board and JEE results.
Atharva now sets his sights on IIT Bombay, where he hopes to pursue Computer Science—a field that aligns closely with his future ambitions. “I want to do a tech startup. At IIT Bombay, I’ll make the right contacts and learn the essentials,” he said.
Coming from a business-oriented family, Atharva credits his parents for their support. His father, Ajay Airen, is a business consultant, while his mother, Neha Airen, runs a boutique. He also shares a close bond with his younger sister, Mishti Airen, who he proudly mentions is six years younger and looks up to him.

Divyanshi Vyas Tops CBSE Class 12 Science (PCB) in Indore with 96.6%
Divyanshi Vyas has secured the top position in the Science (PCB) stream in Indore, scoring 96.6% in the CBSE Class 12 examinations. Her achievement reflects a steady and focused approach to academics, supported by a disciplined routine and strong communication with mentors and family.
Divyanshi credited her performance to consistency in practice and open communication. “I stayed in touch with my teachers and parents throughout the year. Their constant feedback and support helped me stay on track,” she said. “You must sacrifice something to gain something. For me, that meant reducing distractions and staying focused on my studies.”
She maintained a regular study schedule and emphasized clarity in concepts over long study hours. “Instead of just memorising, I focused on understanding the subject matter thoroughly, especially in Biology,” she said. She also dedicated time to solving previous years’ question papers and sample tests, which helped her build exam confidence.
Divyanshi’s family played a crucial role in her journey. Her father, Manoj Vyas, works as a zonal manager in a seed company, while her mother, Tripti Vyas, is a homemaker. “My parents never pressured me. They always reminded me to do my best, and that support made all the difference,” she said.
Looking ahead, Divyanshi aspires to become a psychiatrist, with a focus on therapy and mental health care. “I want to be a good, helpful person,” she shared. “I’ve seen how important mental well-being is, and I hope to make a difference in that field.” Her interest in psychology and medicine has shaped her long-term goal of combining scientific knowledge with compassionate care.

Vanshika Pandey PCB second
Vanshika Pandey emerged as the CBSE Science (PCB) topper, securing 96.4%. Her reaction to the news was one of slight surprise. "Not really expecting," she admitted, as her primary focus lay elsewhere. "I was focused on NEET. I also took an exemption from school to focus on the entrance exam. I wasn’t focused on the board exams. I studied in the last days."
However, when she did turn her attention to the board exams, she did so effectively. "The English exam had a 10-day break. So, those 15 days I focused and studied properly," Vanshika explained. Her efforts paid off particularly in Biology, where she scored an impressive 99. Her strategy for Biology was clear: "I studied NCERT several times. The more times you read, the more you learn."
Vanshika's parents are Vishal, an advocate, and Richa, a homemaker. Looking to the future, Vanshika has a clear career aspiration. "I hope to become a dermatologist. I have an interest in skin. People are very sensitive. Gen Z is very caring for skin. It has good scope in the future." She hopes to study in MGM Medical college in Indore.
