Last day today to finalise & update RTE choice
Parents in Indore have only until June 20, i.e. today to update or finalize their school choices for the second phase of admissions under the Right to Education (RTE) Act for the 2025–26 session that is currently in progress.
The final list of allotments will be prepared through an online lottery on June 25. After the lottery, admissions must be completed between June 25 and 30 using the official RTE mobile app.
In the first round, 5,126 students in Indore were allotted seats in 1,425 private unaided schools, filling only 23 percent of the total 21,105 reserved seats. That leaves over 16,000 seats still vacant. Across Madhya Pradesh, 84,795 students received seat allotments in the first round, but more than 27,000 seats are still open.
According to the State Education Centre of the School Education Department, a list of private schools with available seats has been uploaded to the official RTE portal for reference during the second phase. The list also includes the number of vacant seats in each school.
Parents are allowed to update school preferences between June 16 and June 20. An online lottery will be held on June 25. Once the school is allotted, parents can confirm admission and reporting through the mobile app from June 25 to June 30.
Only applicants who applied and were verified in the first round but were not allotted a school can participate in this second round. These applicants do not need to apply or verify again. The second round is being conducted to fill the seats left vacant after the first round, which ended on June 10.
As per official data, 91 percent of students allotted seats in the first round have completed their admission process across the state. Out of 83,483 students, 75,939 secured admissions in private schools.
In Indore district, 4,361 out of 5,126 students completed their admissions, giving an 85 percent success rate. In Bhopal, 4,993 out of 5,612 allotted seats were confirmed, resulting in an 89 percent completion rate. Jabalpur reported a 90 percent success rate, with 2,478 out of 2,764 students completing the process.
District project coordinator Sanjay Mishra said, “This is the final chance for parents. If school choices are not updated by June 20, students will miss the second round. Parents should complete the process on time using the app or seek help at designated RTE help centres.”
