MP's first Gold Medal in International Physics Olympiad

Riddhesh Bendale, a talented student from Indore, has made history by winning a Gold Medal in the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) 2025. This achievement is particularly notable as Riddhesh is the only student from Madhya Pradesh to win a Gold Medal in IPhO.
The competition was held in France from July 18 to July 24, 2025, with over 415 participants from 87 countries. The Indian team had a remarkable performance, winning 3 Gold and 2 Silver Medals. Riddhesh's historic achievement has brought pride to the country and state on the international stage.
The International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) is one of the most prestigious physics competitions for secondary school students. Its objective is to evaluate students' in-depth understanding of theoretical and experimental physics, analytical ability, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills at the highest level. The competition consists of two 5-hour exams: Experimental and Theoretical.
Riddhesh's father, Anant Bendale, expressed happiness, saying, "I am thrilled to see Riddhesh's achievement. His hard work and dedication have paid off, and I couldn't be prouder. This achievement is a testament to his exceptional talent and perseverance." Riddhesh's parents are overjoyed by his success, and his achievement is expected to inspire many young students in the region.
"His success has inspired many young students in the region, and his name has become synonymous with excellence in physics," said his mentor Kamal Sharma. He added that Riddhesh's win is expected to motivate other students to pursue their interests in physics and strive for excellence.
