This weekend, students will dive into the exciting world of physics, engineering, and math by building and testing a simple rubber-band-powered car.

Materials:

  • 2 Ice cream sticks
  • 4 Bottle caps (wheels)
  • 2 Toothpicks (axles)
  • 1 Rubber band
  • Glue, Tape, Pin

The Build:

  1. Base: Place sticks parallel with 1 cm gap.
  2. Axles: Pierce caps, attach to toothpicks across sticks.
  3. Motor: Hook rubber band to back axle; stretch to front.

Observe: How does the number of winds affect distance? (Math: distance vs. tension).
