Class 10 results of the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE), declared on Wednesday, brought a mix of relief and concern for thousands of students in Indore, with girls once again emerging ahead of boys in overall performance.

Overall Pass %
67.56%
Girls Pass %
73.54%
Boys Pass %
61.89%

Out of 41,812 students registered for the examination in the district, 41,467 appeared for the exams. A total of 28,013 students managed to clear the examination, taking the overall pass percentage to 67.56%.

The most striking feature of this year’s results was the clear gap in performance between boys and girls. While 73.54% of girls cleared the exam, the pass percentage for boys stood significantly lower at 61.89%. The trend highlights a continued pattern in Indore’s board results, where girls have consistently performed better than boys.

Academic Divisions & Merit

In terms of academic performance, nearly 19,779 students secured first division, with girls accounting for 11,614 of these results and boys contributing 8,165. Another 8,187 students passed in second division, while 47 students managed third division.

Amid the broader results, there was also a moment of celebration at the merit level. In Class 10, student Krishna Khajekar secured a place in the merit list, bringing pride to her school and family.

At the same time, the results also reflect a worrying picture for a large section of students. As many as 13,450 candidates were unable to clear the examination, including 8,115 boys and 5,335 girls. The higher failure rate among boys further widened the performance gap between the two groups.

Despite the pressure of a large number of candidates, schools across Indore saw a strong participation rate, with very few absentees and cancellations reported. While the results brought joy for many successful students and their families, they also underline the challenges that remain, especially in improving foundational learning outcomes for a significant section of students.

The MPBSE Class 10 results, announced on Wednesday along with Class 12 results across Madhya Pradesh, mark the end of the 2026 board examination cycle for lakhs of students across the state.
